About Us

Christopher Bacala is the founder and CEO of Bare Roots Landscape Solutions and Bacala Properties, LLC. He started his career by joining the Louisiana National Guard and entered the University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL), to pursue a degree in Industrial Engineering Technology from the College of Engineering. While studying at USL, he was activated and proudly served his country in the first Gulf War.

Upon receiving his Bachelor’s degree, he continued his studies at Louisiana State University (LSU), and received a second Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture. During this time, he also studied landscape architecture abroad in Manchester, England. After college, Chris moved to Dallas, Texas, where he became a licensed irrigation designer and contractor for the State of Texas. He worked for several large design and construction firms, giving him excellent experience in many municipal and residential projects.

Knowing he could do more, he decided to start his own business in August of 2003, and created Bare Roots Landscape Solutions. After more than 30 years of industry experience, he has established great relationships with many clients over the years. Today, countless clients continue to play a key role in the success of his company.

While maintaining a busy work schedule, Chris finds time to be involved in his church, Church of the Incarnation, and volunteers with several community agencies. He was nominated twice for young entrepreneur of the year by the North Texas Business Association. He has also received numerous landscape design and business management awards from organizations such as the Texas Landscape Nursery Association, the State Fair of Texas, and the North Texas Business Association.

Chris lives in the East Dallas area with his wife, Deidre and their two sons, Christopher, and Charlie. He is constant in his faith and leadership in that community and is highly praised by many of his peers and friends throughout Texas and Louisiana.

Tim Daigle is a dynamic business leader whose expertise spans energy industries, technical innovation, and strategic business development. With a strong foundation in management engineering, he has spent decades optimizing operations and driving growth across multiple sectors.

A graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Industrial Technology, Tim refined his executive business acumen at Rice University, focusing on effective sales and customer relationship management. His ability to merge technical expertise with business strategy has earned him industry accolades from Texas A&M and Fluor.

The COVID-19 pandemic reshaped industries worldwide, and Tim’s adaptability positioned him to navigate this transformation. Now, as Managing Director at Bare Roots Landscaping Solutions, he leverages his business experience and customer relations skills to help expand operations, overseeing landscaping services for all Starbucks stores across Texas.

As a leader, strategist, and problem solver, Tim continues to push boundaries, applying his diverse skill set to drive Bare Roots to new heights.  He loves playing golf and is an Avid Family man, Outdoorsman and Cook.  A God-Fearing lover of Life, just happy to be a new grandpa!

Javier DeLamaza is a naturalized, proud Texan and an accomplished landscaper, with 25 years of experience in the field. He enjoys using his skills to create visually appealing and beautiful gardens and likes to experiment with the mixtures of foliage, color, and the texture of plants appropriate to Texas’ climate. Javier brings his knowledge of horticulture, irrigation, and construction to deliver harmonious and styled spaces.

He is inspired daily by his wife and their three kids. In his free time, Javier enjoys taking long walks with his dogs, playing video games with the kids, and creating Sacred geometry designs to be applied on landscaping projects.

Joe Rodriguez is the Construction Division Manager at Bare Roots, bringing over 35 years of experience in construction, project management, irrigation, and drainage systems. Born and raised in West Texas, he moved and graduated High School in the Houston Metroplex.

Joe started out in the Golf Industry working for a company out of Alanta Ga. and traveling the US installing irrigation systems at Golf Courses. He moved back to Houston TX in the late 80’s to work for Bio Energy Landscape for many years as an Irrigation Supervisor, Landscape Construction Superintendent, and Tractor Division Manager. He’s also worked in the Seattle WA area for Father Nature Landscapes as Operations Manager before moving back to Dallas TX. He started working for Bare Roots in August 2020 where he continues to lead with expertise, integrity, and a hands-on approach attitude on all his projects.

Throughout his career, Joe has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality results and fostering strong teams across a wide range of landscape construction projects. His ample industry knowledge and leadership plays a key role in the success and growth of Bare Roots’ construction operations. Outside of work, Joe enjoys the outdoors and spending quality time with his family; he also likes dining out with his wife of 35 years and watching movies.

Berit is a graduate of Illinois State University, with a degree in Horticulture.  Her 40 years of experience also began in college, working for the city parks department.  While working as the City Horticulturist, she became a Certified Arborist. In 1990, she began as a landscape designer for State Farm Insurance Company.  After passing the Landscape Architect’s exam in 1995, Berit worked across the country on State Farm projects.  These projects included site planning, landscape and irrigation design, and project management for properties ranging from small office sites to 100 plus acre office complexes.

She moved to Dallas in 2003 to work at a local design-build firm as a Landscape Architect. She became a Licensed Irrigator in Texas in 2004.

Arturo Delgado brings nearly two decades of hands-on experience and leadership to his role as Project Manager at Bare Roots Landscape Solutions. Beginning his career as a laborer, Arturo’s journey is a testament to hard work, dedication, and a deep passion for the landscape industry. His commitment to excellence and continuous growth has seen him rise through the ranks to his current position, where he plays a vital role in the success of the company. In his day-to-day work, Arturo oversees field crews, ensures the smooth progress of projects, interacts with clients to understand their vision, and helps coordinate the working schedule to meet deadlines efficiently.

Outside of work, Arturo is a devoted family man. He and his wife enjoy spending time outdoors with their three daughters, often making the most of weekends and sunny days in nature. An avid gardener, Arturo takes pride in maintaining his own backyard and garden—an extension of the passion he brings to his professional work.

Arturo’s blend of practical experience, leadership, and genuine love for the craft makes him an invaluable part of the Bare Roots team.

Kayla Delgado serves as a dedicated Administrative Assistant at Bare Roots Landscape Solutions, where she plays a crucial role in keeping daily operations running smoothly. While managing a full course load as an undergraduate at the University of Texas at Arlington—majoring in both Accounting and Finance—Kayla brings energy, organization, and a strong work ethic to the Bare Roots team.

She provides essential support across all divisions—including maintenance, construction, irrigation, and administrative operations. Her role is central to the smooth day-to-day functioning of the company, as she helps bridge communication and workflow between departments. With a keen interest in both the financial and business operations of the company, Kayla is actively learning the inner workings of the industry, gaining practical experience that complements her academic pursuits and sets a strong foundation for her future career.

Outside of work and school, Kayla leads an active lifestyle. She enjoys working out at the gym, playing video games, and spending quality time with family and friends—especially when it involves trying new foods or enjoying a good meal. Her blend of ambition, curiosity, and dedication makes her a valuable asset to the team and a promising talent in the world of business and finance.

Rafael Munoz Jr. Naturalize, was born and raised in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He joined the Bare Roots Team in March 2020, starting as a helper in one of our Maintenance Teams. He began working in the Landscape Industry in 2016.

After months, Rafa was promoted to Foreman for our Residential High-End Landscape Maintenance Team, and he showed us that he had different abilities and Skills.

In July 2021, Rafa was promoted to Production Manager, where he was able to perform all aspects of landscape, hardscape, and irrigation, including production, scheduling, estimating, customer service, design, training, etc.

In March 2025, Rafael was promoted to Account Manager, where he built strong relationships with customers. He showed that no matter how young or old you are, he always thirsts to learn more.

Ray Rubio is the principal project manager coordinating the BRLS crews that install and maintain residential and commercial landscapes, including hardscapes and horticulture. Ray manages the sequencing of jobs and budgets, directly supervises field crews, all irrigation projects and indirectly supervises subcontractors. Ray’s past experience includes golf course construction and irrigation for one of the largest organizations in the golf and recreational development industry. He has been with Bare Roots since 2005.

Barbie has worked at Bare Roots since 2023, assisting with Accounts Receivables, cash applications and helping customers with any special billing requirements, account issues and payments for a convenient transactional process. She has previous experience in retail management as well as accounting services in various industries including transportation, sanitation, and air freight industries.

Born in Ohio, relocated to Texas where she enjoys spare time with her husband and two dogs, gardening, and visiting her two sons and grandchildren. Family members have proudly served our country, in the Army, Coast Guard, Air Force, and her youngest son served for 4 years in the US Marine Core

After graduating from Strayer University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Teresa had held positions in the health services information management and security logistics fields prior to joining Bare Roots Landscape Solutions in February 2025. As the Office Manager, Teresa has over 25 years of experience in administrative, customer service, and accounting roles with an affinity for detail when handling her various duties. She believes integrity, hard work, and teamwork are the key ingredients to being successful in any industry.

She spends her free time as an entrepreneur and plus size model who’s passionate about encouraging other women to love themselves by embracing who they are and striving to be better without judgement. She enjoys reading, poetry and spoken-word events, listening to music, going to comedy shows, traveling, church and community volunteering, and making memories with family and friends.

I’m a landscape designer based in Dallas, Texas, originally from Alexandria, Louisiana. I earned my degree in Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University, where I developed a deep appreciation for thoughtful, sustainable design. Since moving to Dallas in 2022, I’ve been part of the team at Bare Roots, designing outdoor spaces that are both functional and inspiring. My passion for the outdoors isn’t limited to my work—I’m an avid endurance athlete and regularly compete in Ironman races. That same drive and discipline fuel my design process, helping me create environments that bring people closer to nature and elevate their everyday experiences.

Zach Day is a Project Manager at Bare Roots with 30 years of experience in the landscape and construction industry. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Zach brings deep regional knowledge along with a broad perspective gained from working on projects across the country. Known for his hands-on leadership and problem-solving skills, Zach ensures every project is executed with precision and professionalism. His passion for the outdoors carries into both his work and personal life—when he’s not managing job sites, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his son.

Nicole joined Bare Roots as Controller in April of 2024 bringing with her over 20 years of hands-on accounting experience, including 18 years working as a Forensic Accountant.  Originally, she worked in Marketing and Advertising, but she decided to return to school by attending Grand Canyon University for her bachelor’s in accounting.

Born and raised in Central Illinois, she married Aaron, her High School sweetheart after he graduated from Community College of the Air Force, while enlisted in the United States Air Force.  A close-knit family, together, they have two sons.  Seth, who currently attends her alma mater Grand Canyon University and Noah, who is attending Universal Technical Institute of Dallas Texas.

The Air Force kept them on the move as they were stationed in California, South Korea, and Florida while he was enlisted.  In pursuit of the American Dream, they also lived in Arizona, Tennessee until settling in Texas.

She has been an avid writer since middle school. She won two honorable mention awards from Western Illinois University for poetry. She is a published poet, and she is currently working towards completing her first book.  In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and various creative hobbies.

Ridge Estes, a Dallas native, currently holds the key role of an Account Manager. His journey to this role began at Oklahoma State University, where he graduated with a major in Animal Science, concentrated in business. His dedication and hard work during his studies are a testament to what can be achieved through perseverance and commitment.      

Having worked many summers laying sod and redesigning yards, Ridge's passion for making customers happy and achieving their property goals is palpable. During his time here, Ridge learns new skills every day, working to improve in all areas of his life. As an Account Manager, he strives to lead and create strong relationships with his team and clients, always giving his best work to the company.
     
On Ridge's days off and after work hours, he loves spending time with his family and friends, whether it be out on the golf course or enjoying a hearty meal. His love for the outdoors, with hunting and fishing, is a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for life.
